Goethe’s Illness at Age 18

Goethe looking rightJohann Goethe had started his studies at Leipzig University.  Shortly before his 19th birth day he came down with a severe illness, hemorrhaging of the lungs.  This condition was hard to treat.  There was no specific protocol for treating this problem  There is an essay in the “Goethe” menu which outlines this situation that went on for some two years.  It was during this period that Goethe was also exposed to a ‘spiritual education’ by his nurse that was to have a direct influence on the creation of his fairy tale.

This essay makes a point of identifying the astrological patterns in these Moon-to-Sun Return and Advanced illness charts with the conceptualization chart of Goethe’s fairy tale.  Why is this important?

Before one has a conscious awareness moment it is common for a prior crises to have occurred.  This crises will, in some way, be linked to the “conscious awareness’ chart.  In this essay, two approaches to exploring this linkage is provided.  First, a standard interpretive approach is provided.  Second, a simple tale format is presented which visibly shows the links between each of the charts.
